Rocke laid out the design of the pond and stream, dug the stream for us and built the series of waterfalls. I did haul most of the boulders, rock and gravel but Rocke placed most them in the stream. Without his help in design and his consultation and hard work while building our water feature, there's no way that the outcome would have been as beautiful as it is.
We dug our pond as a series of ledges. The first ledge is approximately 8 inches below water level, the second approximately 16 inches below water level, and the lowest area of the pond is approximately 24 inches below water level. We did leave a couple of small shelves that will only be about 4 inches below water level -- some water plants only like to be planted a few inches under water.
